Duties and Responsibilities:
· Build and developing comprehensive band program from the ground up.
· Teach all sections of band from sixth – twelfth grade, including marching band and a co-curricular jazz ensemble.
· Coach students in preparation for auditions and adjudicated events.
· Rehearse and direct pit orchestras for both middle and upper division musicals.
Key Achievements:
· Grew the Upper Division Band from three students to over forty and founded both marching band and jazz band programs.
· Prepared students for various adjudicated events, including Solo and Ensemble, Marching Band Music Performance Assessment (MPA), Concert Band MPA, Festival Adjudications (i.e. Music in the Parks), and earning consistent ‘Excellent’ and ‘Superior’ ratings.
· Included students to play alongside professional musicians in our pit orchestras for our Spring Upper and Middle Division musicals.
Bowling Green State University (2012-2014)
Graduate Assistant for the University Bands
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Served as teaching graduate assistant for the Falcon Marching Band and Athletic Pep Bands.
· Assisted in the total operations of the University band program, including conducting, administrative responsibilities, and organization within the program at large, including middle and high school honor bands.
· Planned, traveled with, and conducted the pep bands at all home and away championship games.
· Rehearsed, conducted, and performed with university wind ensembles.
Sandusky Central Catholic School (2009-2014)
Director of Music
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Taught all bands, grades 5-12, including marching band and jazz ensemble and choirs, grades 7-12.
· Coached students for Solo & Ensemble and large group adjudications.
· Directed the all-school musical, working with kids across all divisions and managing rehearsal schedule and hired professionals.
· Prepared music for weekly school liturgies, Baccalaureate and Commencement Ceremonies, and various community events (i.e. Fourth of July, Memorial Day, etc.).
Key Achievements:
· Grew 7th-12th grade band program from18 members to over 50 and increased participation in High School choir from 11 students to over 60.
· Founded the High School Honors Choir.
· Relocated the spring musical from the school gym to the Sandusky State Theatre, developing a working relationship that was mutually beneficial.
· Earning consistent ‘Excellent’ and ‘Superior’ ratings at Solo and Ensemble, Large Group Adjudication, Festival Adjudications (i.e. World Strides).
Berkeley Preparatory School
Department Chair for the Visual and Performing Arts
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Supervised visual and performing arts faculty across lower, middle, and upper divisions.
· Liaised between senior administration and arts faculty.
· Organized and facilitated monthly department meetings.
· Scheduled and maintained a vibrant calendar of events.
· Reviewed, designed, and implemented comprehensive and meaningful curriculum.
